The Creed of Human Unity
Preamble
This Creed, as promulgated by the Holy See of Human Unity, unites faith, reason, and humanity. It is the foundational declaration of our global institution.
I. Belief in One Humanity
We believe in a single human family, endowed with inherent dignity and evolving through shared knowledge.
We affirm that all persons, regardless of origin or creed, are bound by our shared destiny and moral vocation.
II. Two Books of Revelation
We affirm that divine revelation is expressed in two sacred books: the Book of Scripture, guiding spiritual and moral life, and the Book of Nature, revealing the workings of the cosmos.
We hold that truth cannot contradict truth; both spiritual insight and empirical discovery originate from the same divine source.
III. Faith, Reason, and Conscience
We affirm human reason and conscience as gifts of the divine Logos—callings to be exercised with humility, justice, and compassion.
We reject the notion that revelation or reason can exclude one another.
IV. Continuity of Life and Rejection of Violence
We proclaim the continuity of life beyond death; all persons are destined for fulfillment in divine love.
We denounce violence committed in the name of truth as an injustice that violates both God and humanity.
V. Technology, Law, and Stewardship
We affirm technology, governance, and law as sacred callings, instruments for the flourishing of all peoples, and guardianship of creation.
We commit ourselves to stewardship—ethical guidance of innovation, environmental care, and global justice.
VI. The Reign of Justice Within History
We do not await a kingdom beyond history alone but labor for the realization of justice, wisdom, and compassion within world affairs.
We commit to healing divisions through dialogue, cooperation, and shared advancement.
Conclusion
This Creed serves as the constitutional spine of the Holy See of Human Unity. It binds faith with reason, tradition with innovation, and humanity with divinity. In its service, we cultivate a world governed by truth and love.
